Understanding Megacity Mobility
Exploring movement patterns and transportation dynamics in megacities
As the world’s population continues to concentrate in megacities — urban areas with more than 10 million inhabitants — understanding how people move within and between these vast metropolises has become a central challenge of our time. Megacity mobility encompasses the complex interplay of transportation modes, infrastructure capacity, land use patterns, and human behavior at unprecedented scales.
Our research examines how data-driven approaches and AI can help us decode the movement patterns of millions of residents, uncovering the hidden dynamics that shape congestion, accessibility, and equity across megacity transport networks. By integrating large-scale mobility data with urban spatial analysis, we seek to identify bottlenecks, model future demand, and support the design of more resilient and inclusive urban systems.
